My friend and I were discussing the second book (duh) and the subject was about Tom aka Voldemort.
You know the bit where Tom writes his name with the wand and re-arranges the words into I AM LORD VOLDEMORT? Well, I was wondering what they wrote in other countries for that section. Or do they miss out that part? I hope you get what I'm asking.

I've never read the books in another language, but it surely can't be too hard to make a different anagram of I AM LORD VOLDEMORT in whatever language the book is written. Only I and AM would have to change, anyway, so if you wanted to give riddle a very similar name to the one is English language books all you would have to do would be to tweak around with it a bit... yeah.

I'm not sure, I never really thought about it. But it shouldn't be that hard to do. Just change his name alittle bit probabley.

yeah, a littel tweek of the words was probably all that was necessary, maybe they changed the meaning as well, instead of I AM LORD VOLDEMORT maybe MY NAME IS LORD VOLDEMORT, and Tom Riddle's name would have to change, to what I don't know...

I think they just write it and don't care about the letters.

Well in french I am Lord Voldermort would become: Je mapelle Lord Voldermort (I forget the spelling, that was like the first thing I learnt five years ago) so they would probably hope that other languages wouldnt pick it up...

Or Je suis Lord Voldemort which would be the exact translation.

in school i'm takin french and je suis means i am so that's cool.




u misspelled it- i take french it is je m' appelle and that means my name is.... but in the book they said i am voldemort so as a result u use the verb etre- to be and for je the verb is suis so it is je suis voldemort- just a quick lesson

i mean its stupid. i'm not trying to upset you because I LOVE Hogwarts but its always struck me as a dumb name. It must have been Helga Hufflepuff's idea.
