I'm a Harry Potter obsessed, public Twilight hater that spends her time reading, watching tv and analysing movie's just for fun.
I sit in front of my computer all day being lazy.
I have way too many obsessions.
The only stereotype I don't fit into his sporty-chick.
I aspire to be, and am, a writer of novels and screen plays and an actress.
I currently attend high school and am hating almost every second of it.

So I'm reading the Harry Potter series again and while reading GoF I came across something odd.
"Mrs Weasley was intrigued by the Whomping Willow, which had been planted after she had left school, and reminisced at length about the gamekeeper before Hagrid, a man called Ogg."
Does this mean Mr and Mrs Weasley are older than Voldemort? It doesn't seem right because that would put them in their eighties-ninties. Hagrid was expelled fifty years beforehand Harry. Was he made gamekeeper straight after that or did he go somewhere and then return to Hogwarts a generation afterward's...?
I was just wondering how old Mr and Mrs Weasley exactly are because it's unclear...
I couldn't find a topic on this so...
I have a question about extracting memories and what not.
When you extract a memory from you head and put it in the pensieve do you still have that memory or is it permanately gone until you put it back?
A/N: I've finished this story completely and just thought I should post it. It's only about 5000 words so it's quite short. I don't think it's the best of my work either. There's only about 4 chapters and they're very short but please read anyway!
Disclaimer: I don't own James, Lily, London, or the umbrella...
*:*:*
Lily walked down a dark London street. There weren’t many people around because it was dark and raining. Lily held a black umbrella in one hand, her other hand firmly closed around the handle of her wand which was in her jacket. You could never be too cautious, especially when Lord Voldemort or his Death Eaters could be just around the corner. With a pang of sadness Lily remembered her parents and how they had been murdered by Lord Voldemort only eight months ago. Lily blinked back tears as she kept walking back to her apartment. It had been five months since she had left Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and she was still adjusting to the independence, working, eating what she herself cooked, not seeing her friends everyday and not having to deal with the troublesome Marauders, which in Lily’s opinion, was a good thing. The rain started to fall harder on her umbrella and water splashed onto her toes, making her feet slide down in her black, high heeled shoes. Her thoughts turned to the mischievous James Potter. In her last months of school when she had outwardly stopped mourning for her dead parents and N.E.W.T.S were finally over she began to realise that James was more mature than he had been in recent years and she had noticed that year that he had even stopped asking her out completely. Though he still ruffled his hair which used to annoy Lily now she thought it added to his cute appearance. But that was when she was at school and saw him everyday; now, over the five months that she had been out of school she had only caught a glimpse of him once in the Atrium in the Ministry of Magic. Lily was ripped suddenly from her thoughts when she collided with a hard object and fell backwards into a large puddle, soaking the backside of her jeans and the bottom of her knee-length, button up, black coat. Her umbrella flew out of her hand but luckily her fingers were still wrapped tightly around her wand which was now out of her pocket, a spell in her mind. “Sorry about that,” A deep male voice said. A hand shot out of the darkness to help her up and Lily took it. He hauled her up easily but Lily still had her wand out. “Lily!” The man exclaimed, surprised. Lily quickly brushed her now wet hair from her face and looked up into the hazel eyes of James Potter. “James!” Lily smiled and put her wand back in her coat. She noticed James put his own wand back in pocket but he kept his hand firmly upon it. “Can’t be too careful ‘eh?” He said, looking around slightly. Lily said that he was dressed as a muggle in a crisp black suit with a black buttoned shirt and no tie. He was also completely soaked from head to toe from the rain. “Yeah can’t be too careful.” Lily murmured. “Where are you going?” He asked, “Just home,” She said shortly, “it’s only a few blocks away.” “Have you read those pamphlets that the Ministry have sent out?” He asked, giving Lily a heart melting lopsided grin. “I would have thought, with you being part of the Magical Law Enforcement that you would abide by those laws.” He grinned cheekily. “So I’m out after dark and alone.” Lily stated. “Well then it’s a good thing I came along then.” He said as he put his hand on Lily’s back and pushed slightly. The pair walked in the pouring rain, talking about work, Hogwarts and other trivial things. “Oh once September rolled around I was definitely in withdrawal.” Lily laughed as they ran into the alcove of her door. They stood for a few seconds, dripping wet and laughing. “Anyway,” Lily started, “Do you want to come in to dry off?” She asked, surprising herself by the question but she didn’t regret it. “Yeah ok,” James smiled as Lily unlocked the door and led him inside. “Wow Lily, nice pad!” James exclaimed as they entered Lily’s impeccably clean apartment. “It’s much cleaner than mine and Padfoots at least!” He laughed as he took out his wand and dried himself off as Lily did the same. “Why do you still use those childish names?” “They’re not childish, they’re rugged and manly!” Lily snickered, “and they also represent who we are and the bonds of friendship.” “How do those names represent who you are?” Lily asked disbelievingly. “Oh I can’t tell you that Lily, it’s a Marauder secret and you’d probably report us.” He grinned as she Lily pointed her wand at the fireplace and a fire sprung up in the grate. “Just because I work for the Magical Law Enforcement doesn’t mean I’ll turn you in.” She defended. “Yeah you probably wouldn’t but I know it would eat at you and you’d feel guilty about not upholding the law and then you may even quit your job because of it and I wouldn’t want that.” He smiled at her again which nearly made Lily’s knees collapse but she shook it off and opened the door for him. “Thanks Lily,” “Oh it was nothing.” She smiled. Just as he was about to walk out onto the street to disapparate she reached up and kissed him lightly on the cheek. “Goodnight James.” She said and hurried inside. James stood in the alcove, a goofy grin on his face. He soon disapparated.
So I thought I should make this thread so not many others cropped up that could easily be confined to one thread. Obviously this thread contains SPOILERS!! so don't highlight the text below and read it if you haven't already read the book, as I have just done: So here it all is:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! SNAPE IS EVIL, ok so the book doesn't show that and with all those absurd theories of him jumping in front of the killing curse so he wouldn't die (Cake if you're reading!) now I'm not going to turn around and say that I knew he was good all along, I stand 100% by what I've been saying that SNAPE IS EVIL!! but I saw as DH's release came closer my evidence was getting shorter and more feeble but I'm not the type to admit I was wrong, I guess I just had to read the words from JK's hand to admit defeat with a still pleasant ending. I somehow feel that I've read the whole Snape loving Lily and that's why he turned to Dumbledore's side, it may have bin a fan fic, I've read too many of them *gets lost in thought* So yes Bob and everyone else now you may gloat and brag that you were right *glares*
The book was excellent, I knew Harry's death-ish thing or whatever you want to call it, I sort of knew it was coming around the 3/4 mark that he was going to die, it was just plainly obviously so I sort had time to span out my sadness so I didn't cry but I had tears in my eyes when Fred died, I feel so sad, NO ONE KILLS MY TWINS! I thought George was a gonna at the start and I still feel sad about it.
I hate Rita Skeeter with more of a burning passion, NO ONE DOWN GRADES MY DUMBLES! though most of it was partly true.
With the whole two main characters dying, who were they, because there were quite a lot of deaths, Voldemort obviously but was it Fred, Lupin, Dobby, Wormtail, Bellatrix (did she die?) or Mad-Eye that was the other main character, personally I think it was Lupin or Fred, Mad-Eye died to near the start for it to be so. Though I am also sad that Mad-Eye is gone, it just didn't seem real, I never thought he would ever die. Same with Fred, that caught me with a deep blow, I just wasn't prepared. I feel so sad because they say the other twin is never the same if another twin dies I had to read the sentence twice to let it sink in and then I had to cover that page with my hand as I read on
It was all made up with Percy in the end like we had all predicted. I actually thought Molly was going to die in the end there.
I thought Neville was going to play a bit better role than what he did actually play. I mean, yes, he cut the snakes head off but it was so short lived and all that, JK could have made it a bit longer like a beam of silver or something errupted from the Nagini's head as it flew across the watching heads of everyone in the Hogwarts yard, or whatever it was.
I felt the forming of Ron and Hermione's relationship from about the 1/4 mark of the book and I couldn't keep the smile off my face and when they kissed I actually put the book down and ran around the house, bouncing off walls and jumping about, laughing with this broad grin on my face.
I was sooo careful not to crumple, smudge, bend or in anyway harm to book as I read it. When I was hungry I put my book down for a small amount of time, stuffed some food in my mouth and then made sure I couldn't get any stains on the pages. My mum will probably wake me up tomorrow with it clutched protectively in my arms, heehee!
It felt wierd to read the story, I mean, it never truly was HARRY POTTER until they got to Hogwarts, it just seemed (to me) a very well written fan fic that I happen to be reading not from my computer but from a book. Maybe it will feel more Harry like once I read the books again because as I said that I only just finished as I got it at 10:00am and just finished reading it at 1 in the morning.
I swear, some of those ideas, quite small but still significant, that JK put in that book were the same ones I had already planned for my fics of sorts.
JK left us curious, and especially Marauder fan fic writers, how the bloody hell did James and Lily hook up, we had the whole Snape and Lily thing but nothing about James and Lily, but I guess JK left it blank for our minds to wander into unknown depths and for our imaginations to pull up various yet still intriging pieces of work.
I thought the whole Harry diving mostly naked into a frozen pond to retrieve the sword was a bit stupid and the whole locket buisness a bit Lord of the Rings but I can't put down in anyway JK's wonderful piece of brilliance.
I loved at the start, before it even gets into the story, where JK gives her thanks to people, that all of it was shaped in the shape of the bolt of lightning, I thought that quite cool and creative.
Of course with the American cover version I don't see where that came into play, I saw no veil, no broken wood, no colluseam and no Harry summoning something from the sky. Unless of course it was the Great Hall and Harry was catching the wand or whatever, I can't quite remember I haven't seen it in a while, but I don't think it actually is.
I sure I'm going to think of more stuff to say about this book, actually quite a brief outline or what I thought!
Post your absurd and unrealistic theories about DH. Here's mine: QUOTE Just before RON is going to kill Voldemort (because Dobby has killed Harry), Voldemort begs Ron to not kill him because he is madly in love with Snape, Snape who respects Voldemort very much but is madly in love with Narcissa can't accept Voldemort and so Voldemort kills Snape and then dies of a broken heart, Hermione runs off with Crabbe and Ron and Goyle become best friends.
