In the hope of preventing future attacks by these troublesome script kiddies, I'm going to upgrade HPP's forum software to the latest version tonight. The site will probably be down for a few hours. Also, when the site comes back up it will be using the default Invision Board skin, rather than this parchmenty one I made. It'll be a while before I can set the parchment skin up to work with the new version. On the bright side, there'll be some nifty new features like quick editing of posts without leaving the topic page, upgraded and revamped profile pages, what-you-see-is-what-you-get post creation, and more. And, as a bonus, the new version includes a tool that will unscramble all those old threads that got messed up last time I upgraded the forums! See you in the new version... Update: The forum upgrade is now complete! Welcome back everyone, and sorry for the delay.

Welcome back, everyone. The upgrade is finished, and everything seems to be working well. Here's how to use some of the new features.
WYSIWYG Editor To enable the what-you-see-is-what-you-get post editor, go to your control panel, click Board Settings, and pick "Rich Text Editor" next to "Type of text editor to use when posting."
Quick Post Editing To edit a post without leaving the topic page, click the edit button and select Quick Edit.
Display Name Changing In this version, everyone has both a Username and a Display Name. By default, they are the same, but you can change your Display Name once a month by going to your control panel and clicking Change Display Name. Note that you will still use your original Username to log in.
Quick Topic Editing You can quickly change the title and description of a topic (it must be your own topic unless you're a moderator) by holding down the left mouse button on it in the topic list for a few seconds. You can also mark topics as read by double-clicking on their icon. The icon should dim to indicate that it is no longer considered unread.
That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there are other little things here and there for you to find. Enjoy!
Edit: I forgot to mention that everyone's profile pictures seem to have been lost in the update, so you'll have to re-upload them. Sorry about that.

Well, the parchment skin will come back eventually, if that's what you mean. I just need to re-do it to work with the new version. It won't be for a few weeks, though, since I'm going on that two-week backpacking trip on Wednesday.

QUOTE(Roxy @ Sunday, July 29, 2007 - 05:48 PM) Nah. It's the setup of it all.
xD The profile system reminds me waay too much of myspace. haha I can set it to use the old profile layout if enough people dislike the new style. Using the old version seems to remove the ability to have comments and things, though. QUOTE(Roxy @ Sunday, July 29, 2007 - 05:48 PM) Uhmmm.. Graaahhhaaamm...?
I can't edit my profile... D: I set it so it notifies me by PM for things.. And it just sends me back to the main page. O_o Hrmm, I see what you mean. That's weird. I'll try to find out how to fix that...

I'm crushed by the fact that this version has a built-in Gender field that restricts you to Male, Female, or Not Telling. The text field one is so much more entertaining, but now it's redundant...

And I hope you get to here me say, "Who gets the last laugh now" "
