"Not nice," he said calmly. "Not pleasant. And there's no countercurse. There's no blocking it. Only one known person has ever survived it, and he's sitting right in front of me."

Clearly the most powerful lines and scene in the entire series thus far.
Do you agree?

Hmm, I always thought the most powerful line in the series was "Lord Voldemort had risen again." on page 643. And then the chapter ends-- eeee! The suspense!! @___@

I had to jump up and run around yelling for a few minutes before I could continue reading. I still get all nervous and adrenaline rushed when I re-read it. XD

But I do agree with you on that being a powerful line, it does make us all wonder. ^_^

Hmmm... I think the power gets a bit drained and replaced with mystery and wonder because he wasn't the real Moody.

I think that is def one of the most powerfull lines in the book. But i think that the most powerfull is when cedric askes harry to take his body back to his parents.

Even so, the way the author states that fact, in such a simple way...makes it so much more dramatic!!

I agree with all of you guys. And plus, cliff hangers make it even more suspensful.

Shadow,

I think the quote in your signature is one of the strongest and most powerful lines in the book, it even gets re-stated in Harry's mind to end the book.

'What's comin' will come and we'll meet it when it does.'

Anyway, Yes, That is a powerful line. It's one of those line that make everyone look at you. And it makes everyone and everything go quiet.

Wow, I didn't know that! I just thought it was a take off of "Abra Kadabra" Like the Muggles would definitely remember that, it was the Killing Spell, so it's been remembered. You know how JK slips those sorts of things in.

Pretty well every spell, name, event etc in HP is related to something, if you look hard enough. That, in my opinion, adds greatly to re-reading value.

hey, you're right about avada kerdavra, it's wording is related to death. This was the only unoriginal slepp JK had ever used, and "Avada Kedavra" is closely related to an anciant spell somewhere in the middle east. it means, "As gone as these words". new grin.gif

Like in her biography she says that for Gilderoy Lockhart she looked in a dictionary of words and phrases and found Gilderoy and Lockhart which both meant something that had to do with 'into yourself'or something like that. But it IS true.Even if he was a phony.
