According to thesnitch.co.uk:
"Oliver Wood will not feature in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Obviously this means I [Sean Biggerstaff] won't feature either. When putting a novel of the scale of PoA into a two hour movie, cuts have to be made. This time Oliver was one of them."

There is an online petition to get Oliver Wood back into PoA. I don't think it will work, but there are over 18,000 signatures...who knows? It sure doesn't hurt to try! Without Wood Its No Good Petiton***edit*** whoops! sorry, the previous post wasn't showing up...  ok so now there's two links...

At www.imdb.com it says that Oliver Wood is in the movie. Not always reliable when it comes to movies that haven't come out yet, But it might be true! It doesn't make since for him not to be in it.

Well, they could create a quidditch match in which they never get very close to the keeper's facial features. It would be a lot cheaper to cast an extra to sit on a broom for to hours, rather than giving Biggerstaff and actual speaking role and all. Then again, why Sean couldn't be the extra, who knows. wel I guess that if someone told me "Hey, you'll be in the third movie, but how bout this for a change? You're only in one scene, you don't have any lines, and, just for the fun of it, we won't be payingyou." I guss I'd tell 'em to eff off too.

I wish that was the case but it looks like they're cutting quidditch out completely.  There's a rumor going around that Jamie Yeates (Marcus Flint) isn't in the movie either.
