I dunno, I've always thought Bellatrix was a bit cool, even in book four, despite the fact that she's evil, tortured the Longbottoms and killed Sirius (my eyes are going to tear any second now). It was a bit different to see an evil female for a change, because I don't think even Pansy or Millicent Bulstrode are worth my respect... but Bellatrix (cool name too) is kind of brave when you think about it....

Hi, my name is Anonomous [sic] and I like to annoy the members of this message board because my attempt to copy the success of this board with my own message board that I set up for free on Proboards was an utter failure. I also feel that my reading of "grafix and coding tuts" has bestowed huge amounts of expertise in these subjects upon me. With this boundless expertise I have carefuly analyzed the coding and graphical layout of this website and determined that in fact, despite the colorful buttons that you can see all over the place, and the fact that to the naked eye this site is completely coded in PHP script, it in fact contains completely no scripts or images at all!!! So, just to show off my superior knowlege of all things technological, I have posted insulting, incoherent spam messages all over this site, and have now as a result been "quarantined" and restricted to viewing and replying to only topics that I have created in the past. :)

I wasn't impressed with her at all... dry.gif mad.gif

I wasn't saying anything about "girl power" I just thought she was interesting, even though she is a baddie. Think Harry will kill her to avenge Sirius?

She was kind of interesting when she was talking to Harry like a baby. But I don't like her.

I kind of wanted Neville to hurt her badly-- to avenge his parents.

But Neville showed true bravery to face the woman who did that to his parents.

I was also hoping Neville would hurt her. Partly because she tortured his parents but mainly because she seemed to have the maturity level of my foot. sheesh.

I think someone didn't get hurt by a full attack by the death eater then it would have shown how weak they are. It would be pathetic. They wouldn't be a threat they would be a joke. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

maybe jk will have harry kill her in book 6 or something. I also agree that she had the maturity level of foot. She was kinda stupid and didn't even seem that strong to me.

[COLOR=green][SIZE=1]I think Bellatrix is going to come up more in the next book because she is a complex and involved character.

I'm still shocked that Harry tried to use an Unforgivable Curse on her...

Sirius seems to have just let his guard down. He was having too much fun... he hadn't been out in months.

She still seems weak, I agree.

[COLOR=green]I thought that falling through the curtain is what killed him right? But her spell made him fall through it didnt it? well i HATE HER SO MUCH! and i hate fudge and i hate those people that shot those stunning spells at Mcgongall

"By all means continue destroying my possessions. I daresay I have too many."-Albus Dumbledore

"Yes, as I was saying, Potter, Professor Lupin thought you showed aptitude for the subject, and obviously for an Auror---"-Pro. McGonagall

But Hermione had a steely glint in her eye not unlike the one Professor McGonagall sometimes had.

"You`re not telling me you did fly here?" said Hermione, sounding almost as severe as Professor McGonagall

But Hermione gave him a look so reminiscent of Professor McGonagall that he gave up.

At that moment, Harry fully understood for the first time why people said Dumbledore was the only wizard Voldemort had ever feared. The look upon Dumbledore`s face as he stared down at the unconscious form of Mad-Eye Moody was more terrible than harry could have ever imagined.

"You are blinded,: said Dumbledore, his voice rising now the aura of power around him palpable, his eyes blazing once more, "by the love of the office you hold, Cornelius! You place too much importance, and always have done, on the so-called purity of blood! You fail to recongnize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!..."

"I should have made my meaning plainer,",said Pro. McGongall, turning at last to look Umbridge directly in the eyes. "He has achieved high marks in all Defense Aganist the Dark Arts tests set by a competent teacher."

Do they say what spell she hit Serious with? I can't remember and I'm curious if the spell killed Sirius or if it was falling through the veil.

All I can say is that Bellatrix is a powerful and evil witch!

I agree I hope Neville take her down in book seven. The DA group is probably going to become the future Order of the Pheonix. ohmy.gif

I don't know about that, we know Voldermort will be destroyed by book 7 (rendering the Order unnecessary) and that only of age Wizards can be inolved. That doesn't leave much time for the D.A. to take over.

Isaac

Considering it was red sparks I would assume that it was the stunning spell. The attack didnt kill Sirius, not at all, it was the fact that he crossed over into the relm of the dead (I would assume, b/c of Luna's words in the end of the book "they arent gone, didnt you hear the voices behind the veil?") and I take it you cannot come back.

One thing that seriously agravated me was the fact that the Crutacious Curse did not work on Bellatrix, she said that you had to mean it, I think that Harry meant it with all his heart. He REALLY wanted to hurt her, I think he showed a lot of restraint in that he didnt use the Killing curse on her b/c it seemed he wanted to, I actually thought he was going to. I kept reading after Sirius died hoping to see something like:

as harry hid from Bellatrix and with Sirius's death still fresh in his mind he realized something, he wanted to kill her and he was going to do it. With all his heart and courage Harry leaped out from his hiding spot, took aim at Bellatrix and shouted " Avada Kedavra ! " with those words a blinding green light flew from Harry's wand and hit Bellatrix hard in the chest, she fell to the floor limp and very much dead.

Thats just me and my sick little self.

I thought that the spell killed him and him falling back through the veil was just a metaphorical tid bit that she added. I didn't think that was what killed him.

I think he really hated her but I think in his heart he is too kind to use a spell such as the Crutacious Curse.

go back and re-read the parts of the story like when hagrid got attacked and when McGonagall took the 4 stunners o~or when the DA were practicing stunning spells, it always mentions red sparks, The only other time is when a wizard sends up a distress signal. I think Bellatrix was setting Sirius up for a bigger attack by stunning him.

I think the Veil leading to the land of the dead is a really good call, I was kinda thinking along those lines too.
