Well, I'm eighteen years old and a rising Freshman in college. I plan on being a teacher of the Gifted and Talented in Elementary school, and I've passed a class exempting me from my Intro. to Ed. 101 class in college already. I love to read and I love to write. I go through just about a book a day, though that slows a bit during school. My favorite books are White Oleander, the Time Traveler's Wife and Oliver Twist, as well as anything by Jodi Picoult or Sarah Dessen. And, of course, Harry Potter. As for movies, my absolute favorite is Moulin Rouge, but I also love About a Boy, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Airplane and Down With Love. I'm also a total sucker for music. I do open audition musical theatre whenever I have the opportunity, and I'm in my church's choir. My favorite bands are Snow Patrol, Keane, Seether, Evanescence, Josh Groban, Vanessa Carlton and Sugarcult. I roleplay the always sick, caring, internally scarred and pugnacious Slytherin by the name of Aara Gilk. Rock on. ^_^ Credit to both my avatar and my sig go to bunnywhisk on the TotA forums. :)

I have no idea if anybody ever posted it, but has anybody heard the theory that the librarian, Eileen Pince, is Snape's mother? There's a really well-thought-out essay at TLC, and I was just curious if anybody had seen it and if there were any thoughts.

I realized that we know what people are reading .. but we never know if they liked it or if it would be worth our reading it ourselves. So that's why I made this topic. You can use it to write a lengthy review, to debate other people's reviews, to ask questions about a book somebody else has read, or just to say "Dictionary. 1/5. No plot." Whatever you like smile.gif

Nominate books that you hated, loathed, despised. Not a book you killed in BBE because it was "just okay". The only books that can go here are the worst pieces of literary trash in the world, and you don't understand why people read the filth. Key here is that you have to have actually read it .. you can't just hate it because the cover's ugly. You need to be able to back it up.

I'd like to start with A Seperate Peace.

This site is amazing, truly. You can pick up to 43 things that you'd like to do with your life. It can be from getting better grades to visiting a certain place to reading 50 books to not failing exams to laughing twice a day .. and if nobody else shares a common goal, you just create your own, no worries.

You have the ability to get the site to email you daily/weekly/monthly/yearly reminders on some things that you've set for yourself. I get a weekly remind to drink more water, and it really helps.

I just thought I'd share this site, and ask y'all to copy/paste your 43 things into this thread when you found them and compiled a profile/list. smile.gif

Go. Nao. I'm still thinking of mine/distracted by my hysterical kitten who is terrified of loud noises like fireworks. wink.gif
