I re-read GOF and noticed that on p 570, something Voldemort said did give a clue about the protection Harry receives from living at the Dursley's, officially revealed in OOTP.

"Dumbledore invoked an ancient magic, to ensure the boy's protection as long as he is in his relations care. Not even I can touch him there..."

It's interesting how there are clues like that, I'd forgotten all about that until I read it again!

I'm re-reading OOTP at the moment and I read something and thought "wow, that's an interesting clue" but didn't mark it or anything and now I've forgotten it! Has that ever happened to anyone? I hope I remember it!

How many times have you read POA? I recently re-read it and liked it better the second time than the first so, I thought it would be fun to ask.

I re-read POA this week and found something that has me wondering. It mentioned that "Fred and George had scraped a handful of OWL's each" near the end (p 313), so why don't Harry's OWL's come out before they leave for the summer holidays as well, in OOTP?

Is it just to have readers wondering how Harry did until the next book or a bit of a mistake in continuity?

Did anyone else find it interesting that the Sorting Hat seriously considered putting Hermione into Ravenclaw before deciding on Gryffindor? I thought it was interesting.

She has the brains characteristic of a Ravenclaw but the hat must have seen bravery characteristic of Gryffindor house and decided that was the best place for her. Or maybe as Harry had done, she chose Gryffindor. She was saying that it was the best house and she hoped she'd be in it before the sorting.
